Alexis L. Greenberg is a special education law attorney focusing on students with language-based learning differences such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and expressive/receptive language disorders.

​

A graduate of New York University School of Law and of Brown University, magna cum laude, Ms. Greenberg brings 18 years of legal experience to her practice. 

​

Ms. Greenberg began her professional life as a teacher of students with dyslexia and an Orton-Gillingham trainee. She became a special education lawyer after years of working directly with children. She is also the parent of a young child herself.

Difficulty reading including decoding (matching letters with their sounds), encoding (spelling), fluency (reading at a steady rate with expression), and comprehension (understanding what you are reading).

Struggles with handwriting and/or the process of writing (including letter formation, word spacing, sentence construction, syntax).

Expressive and Receptive Language

There are many types of struggles with expressive language (language going OUT -- speech and writing) as well as receptive language (language coming IN --- auditory processing and reading).
